10/11/2024 – Corrections Officer injured at Baraga Correctional Facility (AMF), requiring staples to his head.

Prisoner A, level V GP, assaulted Officer A with a weapon today at 1641 hrs. Prisoner was out for a shower. Officer A was taken to Baraga Memorial for his injuries. He received 2 staples in his head, but has not returned yet. The office was sealed as a crime scene and MSP is going to the facility. 

Motive is unknown at this time.  

Prisoner is being transferred.
