June 2024 Report – Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center

During June 2024 Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center officer faced:

• 596 – mandates;
• 116 – 32 rule violations;
• 12 – officers mandates longer than 16 hours;
• 66 – critical incidents.

Charles E. Egeler Reception & Guidance Center, which is supposed to employ 266 corrections officers, currently has 75 vacancies with a vacancy rate of 28%.

As of June 8, 2024, the Special Management Housing Unit at RGC housed prisoners for the following serious violations:

• 3 – assault on staff
• 18 – assault on prisoners
• 11 – fighting
• 7 – threatening behavior on staff
• 2 – possession of a weapon (other prisoners charged with fighting and assaults were also charged with possession of a weapon. These 2 were ONLY charged with possession of a weapon.)
• 1 – dangerous contraband
• 4 – failure to disperse
• 9 – disobeying a direct order
• 2 – misuse of property
• 13 – notice of intent to conduct an administrative hearing (many of these are assault victims.)
• 3 – out of place
• 2 – smuggling
• 1 – substance abuse
• 1 – theft
