11/13/2024 – Corrections Officer struck in the head by a prisoner at Marquette Branch Prison (MBP)

At 1538 hours prisoner A punched CO A in the face when CO A released the prisoner from his cell for a shower on G – first gallery.  No weapons were used. Facility reports 2nd officer was with A at the time of the assault.

Staff response was immediate and effective in gaining control of A.

CO A is at the hospital for assessment with no serious injury reported

ADD B has approved the transfer of prisoner A to AMF with AMF staff doing the transfer.

Based on current information, prisoner A may have been upset as today was the first day that G Block was off the phase plan due to the prisoners fights on Sunday which resulted in the unit going on a phase plan. 

Showers were stopped and no movement in the housing unit for remainder of the night.
