ACTION REQUIRED: Final Legislative Push from MCO – 11.15.24

URGENT – Take action!

This is the final push to get our pension legislation passed this legislative session.

As you are well aware, the Senate took action and passed our hybrid pension bills several weeks ago. Now we need to get the House of Representatives to do the same so the bills can go to the Governor for her signature before the legislative session ends at the end of the year. It is a short window of time; they will likely only meet another 8 to 10 times this year.

We need to make our voices heard by Governor Grethen Whitmer and House Speaker Joe Tate, who is responsible for putting the bills up for a vote, to demand that they prioritize passing this bill package. Because of your assistance, MCO has kept the staffing crisis in front of the media, public and legislature. We must continue to be loud and push to get this important legislation through the House and onto the governor’s desk. If they do not take action before the end of the year, the bills will expire and we would have to start over next year.

It is imperative that we all send this letter ASAP! We are asking that you click the link to email Governor Gretchen Whitmer and House Speaker Joe Tate to request that they support allowing the House of Representatives to vote on these pension bills.

In solidarity,

Byron Osborn

MCO President
