June 2024 Report – G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility

During June 2024, G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility officers faced 1489 overtime shifts, 658 mandates (of which 28 were FMLA violations,) 569 closed positions, and 212 32-hour rule violations. MCO Members remain steadfast in their professionalism and commitment to public safety as they continue to be punished by the staffing crisis. G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility, which is supposed to employ 245 corrections officers, currently has 97 vacancies with a vacancy rate of 39.6%.

Notable incidents from June 2024 include:

6/6/24 Assault and battery prisoner victim.

6/11/24 Assault and battery staff victim.

6/11/24 Prisoner to segregation for fighting and possession of a weapon.

6/15/24 Prisoner released from and returned to segregation same day for assault and battery prisoner victim. Prisoner was initially placed in segregation on 6/11 for fighting and possession of a weapon.
