12/1/2023 Update on Impasse Panel Recommendation
| MCO Members, The Impasse Panel has issued their recommendations regarding our wage negotiations with the state. The full document is attached for you to review. The recommendations lean in favor of our position and would make significant progress toward 2 of the 3 goals that we had in negotiations- higher starting pay and an accelerated pay scale. This recommendation will now go to the full Civil Service Commission for review. We are hopeful that the Commissioners will acknowledge the long-standing staffing crisis and approve a decision that moves even further in favor of our position than what the panel recommended, specifically a base pay increase higher than the offered 5%. We are now creating a draft of what the recommended new pay scale will be compared to the current pay scale and will provide the membership with the comparison and examples of the accelerated steps next week.
